Corporate Festive Fundraising: five great examples

Our corporate partners have done a great job of coming up with innovative ways to fundraise for FoodCycle this festive season. So much so that we wanted to share their ideas. Thank you to our amazing partners for their support.

Just Eats’ Black Friday Campaign

Just Eat kicked off the festive season by reimagining its Black Friday deal. They bucked the discounting trend associated with the day and instead donated 50p from every order on 29th November. They also included FoodCycle in a consumer-facing marketing campaign on social media and across its app promoting the partnership. This meant that as well as an incredible donation, visits to our website increased by 80%.

Engine Group’s Christmas Party Switch Up

Engine wanted to make a different kind of impact with their Christmas party this year. They forewent the company-wide celebration and instead donated the budget to FoodCycle.  To make sure they still had something to celebrate, over 100 members of staff took part in two Food Invention Challenges and signed up to volunteer at various projects across London.

Cook’s Festive Donation

Cook chose to donate their regular quarterly donation to our matched funded campaign the Big Give Christmas Challenge, doubling the value of the gift meaning twice the impact for our charity. By donating during this period, Cook created additional momentum to the Big Give campaign, ensuring its success.

Octopus Group’s Volunteering Incentive

Octopus Group offers its employees the opportunity to volunteer with FoodCycle throughout the year, both inside and outside of their working hours. As an incentive to volunteer, they match every hour volunteered with a donation to FoodCycle. This year Octopus rounded up these donations, along with the money from their fundraising events throughout the year and donated it as an end of year gift. This has meant that volunteers from Octopus have been a staple in our London and greater Manchester projects throughout the year and have benefited our guests directly.

A Festive Food Invention Challenge

A huge number of organisations got in touch to take part in a Food Invention Challenge in the countdown to Christmas, so much so that we were fully booked by the start of November.  This means that demand for our challenges has spread into January which has previously been a quiet period for us. There is still availability, so please get in touch with Miriam if you are interested in getting your team involved.
